The LCD screen displays 16 characters over 8 lines. Though the TI-83's keyboard layout might seem daunting to those who've never laid eyes on a graphic calculator before, the helpful, if intimidatingly thick, manual will get you up and running quickly.
The TI-83 includes function, parametric and polar, and sequence plot modes. You can store, graph, and analyze up to 10 functions, 6 parametric and polar functions, and 3 sequence functions. The TI-83's Draw operations allow you to annotate graphs. Along with the advanced math and science features, the TI-83 also includes such financial functions as cash flow, amortization, and time value of money.
The included input-output cable lets you link the TI-83 with another TI-83 or a TI-82 for data sharing, and the optional TI-Graph Link software lets you transfer files to a PC.

The calculator works fine. It has an appearing disappearing spot in the middle of the LCD screen that wasn't disclosed to me initially. There's a connection hole at the bottom of the calc but I don't know what plugs into it because nothing else was sent with the calc. Other than those faux pas the machine works fine and does what I need it to do.

Used T-83, a great value
The calculator looks brand new, it even came with batteries, what a bargain and the T-83 is much easier and a better screen that the newer T-89, I don't know about the graphing differences, but the T-83 does everything else I need and it is easy enough to figure out. I was really happy with the quality for price and how fast it shipped, so glad I bought used! older is sometimes better.
