Years ago I bought this at a box store and it's great
This is a review of Office Suite 2006 ... years ago, I purchased this product from a box store (whose name I will not mention) for about . It is no longer offered in stores. It offers a word processor that works with Windows most Windows 2003 files. It probably doesn't work well with Windows Office 2007 or Windows Office 2010. It is after all a product (or less).
It is easy to install, and so a very good, basic job for word processing. Which has been our primary use. Without a doubt Word is a much better product. We have also tried the free Open Office (from Sun, which is now owned by Oracle). Open Office is large, and it's word processor while compatible wasn't great or easy to use. The office 2006 suite is very good for very basic word processing needs (kids doing homework, book reports, writing a business letter or resume). Embedding pictures is easy. Cross linking spread sheets, not so easy, I haven't been able to embed dynamic graphs from a spreadsheet to my Office Suite 2006 word processor.
If you are looking for an inexpensive, relatively safe, alternative to 0 for Microsoft Office, this may do. It probably isn't suitable for college level work if that work involves graphs or embedding more than basic .jpg pictures.
We have used the paint program, which is more advanced than the default Microsoft paint that comes with various versions of Windows. It won't handle overlays, won't auto outline, won't allow selection of new backgrounds, basically it isn't Photoshop. If you need to just cut and paste, crop, remove red eye, emboss, change format from one of the many supported types to another, this will work well. Advanced features really aren't included. It's a basic product, but is more capable than the Open Office draw offer from Oracle.
I'm uncertain about licensing, it seems to install on any PC with the same code. I've seen you tube videos offering a code, it is possible there is only one code for all I know.
This is a small, fast, basic suite, for non-advanced users who have basic needs. So far, it has been great for my family. This is a 32 bit Windows program, but works well on any version of XP, Vista or Windows 7 we have tried it on, 32 or 64 bit.

ehh
Don't bother with this if you can afford to buy a used edition of the real thing.

OFFICE SUITE 2006
WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. I THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE A TOOL ON IT SIMILAR TO OUTLOOK. I HAD NO USE FOR IT.

Office Suite Faulty Conversions
I bought this package at a retailer for .99. Attempting to install, I found that the installation instructions on the package do not indicate that the user should note an ID code on the disk before inserting it, and once the disk is in the drive you can't access it, So When the Installation software asked for an ID, I looked all over the packaging for the ID and couldn't find any. As a result I had to abort installation and take out the disk, where I finally found the ID. Then the ID would not work after repeated tries, and tech help had to send me an alternate, which finally worked. On the positive side, tech help responded promptly.
However Office Suite did not adequately convert my MS Word 2003 file
but created irremediable distortions. I bought the suite to convert this file to PDF. I looked up PDF in their help index and found only a reference to exporting an image to PDF. I looked in the file menu and found that in fact you can export text files to PDF. But since the file conversion from MS Word is faulty in the first place, I could not go ahead with the PDF export.
Since the program won't convert Word files adequately and therefore I can't use the pdf export feature, this software is of no use to me. Of course I could have re-entered the entire Word file into the Office Suite word processor, but given the other problems I suspect the PDF conversion is probably primitive as well. This is a potentially good product at a very reasonable price, but it needs to go back to the drawing board before being released again.

Good Program
I was very pleased with this. I use Excel at work all of the time & found this to be very close. So for the price, I was thrilled.
