Great product for this price range
I am happy with this scanner. It arrived quickly and I am very happy with the image quality. A few snags along the way but all in all I'm satisfied.

Epson V500 Photo
I have approximately 2,000 slides that I wanted to make into pictures,then into CD's. The scanner was excellent, it created excellent quality picture, and color Corrected those that were faded or discolored.I had some problem getting started but Epson tech support helped me out and it worked fine. I looked for prices and the Unit locally would have cost me 8.00.I went to amazon and got a price of 8.00 with no tax or shipping charges and it was delivered in 3 working day's.All in all Everthing worked extremel well
High value scanner
I have found the V500 to be an easy-to-use, high quality, scanner for use by an amateur whose main goal is to archive his thousands of old photographs, negatives, and slides. I bought it to replace an older Epson whose design prohibited its use with OS X, and any version of Windows newer than XP. That machine was not too easy to set up under XP, but its death knell came when I replaced primary, secondary, and tertiary XP computers with one Snow Leopard machine. I needed a new scanner. This gear installed immediately, with no hassles, and has been doing a commendable job for me.
I can heartily recommend this machine to anyone in my situation, but I cannot yet comment upon its longevity, nor its utility in a high-volume, production, situation. My use is that of a hobbyist, and once all my old photos and film are copied, it may get little use. I use a separate all-in-one for my copier and for documentary scans. The V500 seems to have all the features and capacities I'll ever need, and the price was certainly quite good.
EPSON V500 PHOTO SCANNER
I was in need of scanning numerous slides from my photo files. I wanted something that was simple and of high quality and something that would allow me to get more technical if I wished to. I have scanned over 200 slides and the results have been consitently excellent. I am now doing old photos as well. For the price, you can't beat the product.
