Capture Contact Information
The CardScan Executive scanner can scan up to 20 business cards a minute in color. Known for fast, accurate performance, the scanner works with native Mac software to help you convert the data on business cards into a digital form that's easy to use.

You can also use the CardScan software to consolidate contact information from electronic sources, including web sites and email signatures. With drag-and-drop performance, the CardScan makes creating a complete contact record as easy as highlighting the contact data you want, dragging it over the list area of the CardScan window, and releasing.

Designed to work with Mac OS 10.5.3+ (Leopard), the new easy-to-use CardScan interface combines Mac-specific design with many of the functions that have made CardScan for Windows an award-winning choice for business professionals. Updated CardScan sofware for Windows is also included in the Executive package, so you can be sure you'll have access to the version that meets your needs.

Manage Contacts With Ease
Once your contacts are entered in the CardScan software, you can assign single or multiple customizable categories to each one. This makes it easy to sort contacts, view them in groups, and prepare lists of contacts for email or direct mail. Plus with the easy-to-use Print Wizard, creating custom envelopes, labels, and more is hassle-free. All this means that outreach projects get done faster and are easier to keep track of.

Using the "Batch Scan" feature to scan a whole stack of business cards at once lets you quickly assign several cards the same category or notes, saving you time. And when you can't remember someone's name, but you know what their business card looks like, the image view feature lets you fan through color images of all your scanned business cards.

Stay in Sync on the Move
Keep your contact list up-to-date across the applications and mobile devices that you use on a daily basis. Since CardScan can be set up to sync automatically with Mac's Address Book, it's easy to keep the contact lists in your iPhone, iPod, and MobileMe network in synch, too. It's equally easy to export information as vCards (electronic business cards) to other software, including Microsoft Entourage.

All CardScan products offer a risk-free 30-day trial. And all new CardScan Executive systems include software for both Windows and Mac OS.

Customer Reviews

Godd scanner but buy from manufacturer
I love the card scanner but it did not work when I bought it. After 2 phone calls to the manufacturer, they figured out that my card scanner had old software and did not work with my version of MAC OS so I had to download the current software. The whole hassle took a little over an hour to resolve. I would have purchased it from the manufacturer for the additional . Amazon.com did not reveal that the software was non functioning/obsolete. The scanner itself is great and has greatly reduced clutter in my office. I do not recommend buying from amazon.com.

cardscan review
Works as advertised. Went from cardscan for PC to cardscan for MAC. Works great

Works Fine, But Buy CardScan Exective
I was concerned by some of the negative reviews, but this thing works just fine. OCR is remarkable. Save yourself a few dollars and just get the CardScan Executive version, it comes with both Windows and Mac software (you need to go to their website to retrieve a Mac serial number using the included Windows serial number).

Questionable Business Practice
I bought this product a year ago after seeing it at the Macworld Expo and and initially liked it. But the initial excitement wore off quickly:

1.) When I synced with my address book, I lost all my address book entries. This is a rather big deal, so please make sure you back up your address book before you sync.

2.) I bought a new Mac recently and installed the cardscan software on that new Mac. To my surprise, it turned out that I was not able to use the software on both my old and my new Mac. I received a message that the license key was already used and that I had to buy a new one (for 7.99!). This is despite the fact that, when I bought the scanner and the software, there was no mention of any restriction of the license to one seat or one computer or one user. The order confirmation did not mention any license restrictions and the license agreement that is embedded in the software does not refer to such restriction. I believe strongly in intellectual property protection, BUT, but it is a very questionable business practice to disable the use of a product that a customer paid for in full until an additional (and, I might add, substantial) amount is paid when that was not part of the purchase or license agreement. Obviously, if taken to court, the company would lose. But if you are not prepared to go to that kind of trouble, you might want to stay away from this product. When I emailed the company inquiring about this business practice, I received no reply to my question.

3.) When it became clear that the company was not going do to anything about the random license restriction, I asked about the necessary steps to remove the software and all related files from my old Mac in order to be able to use the license key with my new Mac. Saying that this was like pulling teeth would be a huge understatement. I had to send 7 or 8 emails to finally get the answers. Mind you, this is something that is normally clearly stated on a software company's website or is even in the embedded help file. And even if not, it hardly ever takes more than one email to a software company to get clear instructions; not even from small software developers who don't have a dedicated customer support team.

If you plan on using this product on one computer only, don't plan on buying a new computer that you want to use the scanner with and don't plan on contacting customer support, you will probably be fine. Otherwise, I would think twice about buying this scanner.

Who knew...
I've had boxes of business cards on my desk for years. An employee convinced me this was a good thing to do and was she ever right. It's SO MUCH easier to access the information that has been stuck in little business card sized boxes!
